camino update 2
Just hit Roncesvalles today. Begin walking tomorrow morning! Lord help! Gotta make it to Santiago in about 30 or 31 days. 750+ kilometers!
Enjoyed a beautiful mass today with a special “peregrino” (pilgrim) blessing in several different languages. The Church was absolutely breathtaking. Old Gothic Cathedral with plenty stained glass to go around. Old wooden kneelers with no cushion (very nice!) and a beautiful canopy over the holy altar. Then all came together to sing the Salve Regina together in Latin after the blessing. Was quite beautiful and powerful. There is a wonderful spirit of the Camino here!
Met some awesome people today. Luckily I sat at a table with someone who knew English, Italian, and Spanish! He translated alot for me. We at the table (8 or so) talked about the world cup, of which I know nothing of! hah! Apparantly USA is battling against the UK, and its a pretty big deal.
A lot of peace and yet a lot of anxiousness.
