So, heres the pic of the crew! I´ll introduce them starting from the left!
First, theres Enrique or in English, Henry. He and Manolo remind me of “Dons” in the Mafia. They are happily married and are great guys! We all call them abuelos (grandpa in spanish), but they always end up getting to our destinations first!!
Then there´s me.
Next to me is Sandra. I call her Claire in my mind, cause shes always saying “Claro Claro”, which is “o.k.” in spanish. Shes a great woman who loves adventure. Shes got a tender heart and loves to be generious with her words and her charity. We have many laughs joking about our fellow companions. Even though she doesnt speak a lick of English, we still get everything each other says! She´s wonderful!
Then there´s Manolo, who I talked about earlier.
Next to him there´s Felix. He´s from Southern Spain. I call him Papa, becuase he has kind of become the leader of the pack. He speaks for us whenever were trying to do something or go somewhere together. Whenever we arrive at a stamp site for our Pilgrim Credentials, he always gathers everyones and stamps and dates them himself. We all laugh at him and at calling him papa, but he loves it! He unfortunately is not coming to Santiago with us. He lost his credential last time he did the Camino and had to get a new one half way through. Now he is doing the first half of the Camino again to get those stamps and have them all on one to receive his Campostella.
Sitting on the donkey is Andres. He´s my friend who had been translating everything for me until we separated. He´s a sort of renegade and loves adventure. He´s not afraid to voice his opinion, even if it is directly opposite from what yours may be. He´s a little angry with the Church I think, but he has an open heart. I respect that so much about him, and pray for him everyday. I think he will be a great husband one day.
At the end is Sergio. Sergio is one awesome man. He reminds me so much of St. Joseph. He is constantly sacrificing so much of himself for the entire crew. Hes always laughing and happily sacrifices. Hes taken good care of me and all my injuries with his own medicines. Hes like the brother of us all. He has an extreme open heart and I think wants a relationship with God. He is deeply respected by us all.
Thats the crew!!
